About Us – City Desk

Moving your office furniture

We enjoy bringing creative and innovative solutions to a large range of businesses with varying needs. As our loyal customers know, we offer a stress-free and seamless service with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations.

Before we agree to move or dispose of your unwanted items, we will carry out a thorough assessment. We can either visit your premises or conduct this online (Skype), as we have a detailed knowledge of every office furniture range. We will look at the quality of your items, the layout of your premises and any access points. You will then be presented with a detailed Move Management Report, which will determine our fees, and we can book you in.

Our history

City Desk Recycling & Removals Ltd. evolved as a natural solution to the problem of removing unwanted office items; it was an idea borne out of necessity and practicality. After supplying our customers with office furniture for many years through our other company, Office Update, we spotted a gap in the market. We were often asked if we knew anyone who could remove and recycle old chairs, desks, and IT equipment, so we founded City Desk.

More About Us

  • Anthony Berman

    Anthony Berman

I’ve been in the office furniture industry for over four decades, as I’m also the Managing Director of Office Update, a major office furniture supplier to the commercial sector.

I had worked with well-known business removals companies on major commercial moves, but decided I wanted to offer a higher quality service. Combining this experience with my detailed office furniture knowledge and Andrew’s expertise, City Desk was created.

I also own other businesses, including office partitioning and website creation. In my spare time, I’m kept busy with four children. I enjoy repairing classic cars, which I both buy and sell. I like travelling in the UK and abroad, keeping fit, scuba diving and skiing – I’ve skied the Vallee Blanche, which is the tallest mountain in Europe.

My role in the business stems from three decades of experience sourcing land and sites for new homes nationwide. I’ve designed and refurbished residential and commercial buildings, including complete fit outs and handling every aspect of planning.

Having worked with a wide range of professionals, from planning consultants, architects, quantity surveyors to all types of building contractors, I had the ideal expertise to help City Desk remove office furniture.

When one of my clients happened to ask if I had any contacts who could dispose of any unwanted office items, I looked to Anthony Berman from Office Update – and City Desk was born. My interests outside of work include badminton, table tennis, cycling, as well as enjoying good food, fine wine, and watching Spurs!
